Handover Arrangements
(Most of this text is from 2012 Ops Notes.)

The boat must be left at Vliho Yacht Club unless you have agreed with the next syndicate member going out that you will leave Juli at another mutually agreed loaction. This must be secure and permission granted for the duration of the boats stay by an appropriate local official. This should also have been approved by the syndicate chairman. If the boat is not to be kept at VYC, contact details must be left with the Marina/Port Office.
The out-going member must complete the Ships Log and the Handover Sheet before leaving. Blank sheets are kept in the Sailing Season Records File
Example of Handover Sheet:
Cleaning and Stowage:
A well-kept boat is central to our agreement and the success & harmony of the syndicate. The boat should be cleaned and items returned to their correct storage location. All perishable items must be removed unless the incomming member has indicated they would like them to be left. In the interest of pest control please do not bring cardboard boxes aboard.

All crockery and galley equipment must be washed, surfaces wiped down and berth cushions and any bedding used aired.
Remove all personal items unless they've been stored in the Personal Items Locker, located behind the main saloon seating.
Replenish the ship stores and ensure:

-
The vessel’s fuel tank, outboard fuel tank and water tanks are full,
-
Empty gas bottles have been replaced.
-
Supplies of lubricating oils and distilled water are sufficient.
-
Disinfectant, Soap, Waxpolish, Insect Spray Zapper Tablets.
-
Tea towels have been cleaned
-
There are 6 large bottles of drinking water.
-
There are 6 x Cans of Beer
-
A decent supply of coffee, tea & long life milk.
Ensure all the boat equipment is correctly and securely stowed.
Do not leave Hatches on Vent Lock as strong winds can drive rain water in.
Handover Sheets:
Once completed the handover sheet should be kept in the Ships Log to make it easier for the incoming person to read. He should store it in the Season Sailing Records file once he's read it.
